My passion for being connected to nature has always been with me, so much so that I was inspired to renounce my successful career as a sports therapist and retrain as a garden designer & horticulturalist.
I studied in Dorset at Kingston Maurward and received a Distinction for my Garden Design Diploma & Horticulture. I also hold a Level 2 Certificate in Horticulture from The Royal Horticultural Society in London, also passed with Commendation. I was awarded two of the four awards given at the end of my course. I have worked at both Chelsea & Hampton Court. In 2012 I worked in collaboration with the the designers Flemons Ward. We designed and installed a show garden in Hampton Court for Hall and Woodhouse and were awarded Silver Gilt.
I have a design studio in my back garden, where I look out onto a protected area covered in native trees and home to many birds small and large, everything from Buzzards to Bull Finches to Wrens.
I promote nature, I encourage its diversity and I manage it all within the design. From bird boxes, bee homes, compost heaps, bird feeders, toad and frog shelters and hedgehog havens. A garden can look fantastic for us humans and can be a safe haven for wildlife. I encourage chemical free gardening, using natural deterents instead.
Inspired by beautiful, functional gardens, I love to help clients realise their aspirations and make the very best of their outdoor spaces. My ethos is to teach my clients about their gardens. If you want to know more about your own garden, the way it changes, grows and develops, I will help you do that. If you want to just enjoy the space I will do that to by looking after your wonderful garden as if it were my own.
I work closely with my clients in developing the brief and provide creative, robust solutions that transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, wildlife friendly environments.
