Garden Design
We work very closely with our clients to develop the brief and provide creative, robust solutions that transform outdoor spaces into beautiful, wildlife friendly environments.
No project is the same. Everything we do is tailored to suit. Our designs incorporate many element such as style, lifestyle, comfort and property location.
Phases of Design
Stage 1 – Consultation
It is really important that we meet you and any involved parties. We will visit you on-site establish an outline of your goals and obtain/develop a design brief.
We will probably measure up and photograph site before preparing a concept plan. Our concept plan may include layout of gardens, landscape features, planting suggestions, materials, etc.
It is at this point that we can provide a range of ideas and solutions to put together a picture of what is required to achieve your objectives.
Stage 2 – Site Survey
For larger projects, a detailed site survey is generally required. We measure and survey the area and gather the necessary information required to design accurate landscape plans and garden design concepts. A site survey will show us the topography of the area and help with making the best decisions regarding drainage, run off and identifying existing site features and suitability of the plants, trees and shrubs for best results.
We will also advise you if Council consents are required. Please be aware that this will involve additional billable hours and costs.
Stage 3 – Designs & Plans
At this stage, we present you our design concept together with plans regarding the landscape/garden design and plant suitability. This is where we discuss and explain the options with you and your input is requested before we provide you with the final design and costings of the project.
Its is now that we decide if detailed drawings are required. We find that a majority of our clients are happy with concept plans as providing detailed plans/drawings are time consuming and therefore can be costly.
Stage 4 – Implementation
Once the concept drawings that outline design, plants, materials, finishes & construction methods are provided and accepted for the landscaping and garden features, construction can begin.
All our plants come from the best Nurseries, we try and use local Nurseries as much as possible, but we will only ever use healthy plants, any plant that arrives in less than tiptop condition will not be used.
This is where my experience of working at Chelsea and Hampton Court comes into my work ethos. We endeavour to make your garden be the very best version of itself.
Note: We only recommend full drawings/scale plans for extensive designs as they can be costly and time consuming. All designs remain the property of Horticura although colour copies will be provided to the client for their records.
All designs, concept or full will need to be paid on acceptance of works and prior to commencement of works.
